whilst working on their agency clients.

Our Founders

When Joe Met Milo

Joe and Milo met when they were 13 years old at school in South West London, but they had little time left to become friends before Milo shot off to sun filled Cape Town...

But, fear not, they then met 10 years later at a mutual friend’s birthday party. At the time, Joe had recently finished working at a Silicon Valley backed Startup, to raise pre-seed investment for early stage entrepreneurs. Milo was assisting large UK based corporations to outsource operations to South Africa.

Soon thereafter, Joe and Milo shortly reconnected when a start-up that Joe was supporting saw the benefit in building their team remotely, in a place that spoke the same language, in the same time zone, that was much more affordable than London. And so the journey began…

Do What We Love

Later that year, Milo flew Joe out to Cape Town where he fell in love with the city and together they began a Startup Studio that would focus on supporting Founders that Joe raised pre-seed investment for. In London they built a co-working space, offering free seats via LinkedIn to Startup Founders.

Joe and Milo thought developing relationships in person would create more meaningful opportunities, as opposed to sending out automated messages.

Unfortunately, many of their tenants were more concerned with their coffee cups being refilled than making connections. However, a few of their tenants would later go on to become great friends and successful Founders of impressive businesses. These friends, now clients, have gone on to use the blueprint of Joe and Milo’s Agency between London and Cape Town to develop their own lean and agile teams.

Our Advice

Positivity Attracts Good People!

After launching a co-working space into a Pandemic and building a Startup Studio that would support Founders across every vertical of service they might require - Joe and Milo finally understood what the silver-haired advisors had been telling them for years - “just do one thing well!” Only now, while writing this, do I (Milo) realise why we didn’t.

We knew we shared a love for supporting the underdog, we shared a love for working for individuals inspired by their ideas rather than large businesses. So, when somebody sitting opposite us says, “hey, I've got this idea!” we just can’t help ourselves from trying to move heaven and earth to fund, design and develop that idea. Heck, we’ll even change their toilet roll if it’s needed!

It has been a long, painful and expensive road, leading to some added grey hairs. However, with that being said, we’ve been a part of some amazing journeys and we couldn’t have done it without everyone's support. And now, we invite you to join us on our own venture of EmbeddedEmployees.
